Congrats on taking your first steps to improve your mental health. Taking care of your mental health is not a sign of weakness; it is a commitment to your own strength and well-being. This process is not selfish, it is essential. I am here to help you channel your strengths and regain a sense of confidence and clarity. Beyond developing a supportive and collaborative relationship with each other, my aim is to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your struggles, thoughts, feelings, and goals.
One of my professional values is bringing multicultural competency into the therapeutic space and allow clients from all backgrounds to feel safe and supported. As a white counselor, it is important to me to advocate for and acknowledge the needs and systemic roadblocks that marginalized individuals face daily.
I believe in a client-centered approach to counseling, using evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). However, I also believe that all approaches to counseling have value and enjoy integrating different aspects based on client need.
I am a second-year graduate student at Northwestern’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and I’m incredibly excited to learn and gain experience as an intern. My goal is to work with a wide range of clients from a culturally humble and holistic standpoint. I have experience working with individuals coping with anxiety, depression, and sexual trauma and I work with adults 18+ struggling with motivation, life transitions, relationships, and personal identity.
I also run an in-person counseling group on Thursday evenings for adults looking to improve their social skills, confidence, and develop values-aligned friendships. Please feel free to contact me to learn more about our group and/or how to join.
*We are able to accommodate a low session rate due to Danielle’s graduate intern status. She is supervised and overseen by a clinically-licensed therapist on-site.
If you are interested in scheduling an initial session with Danielle, please email us at info@kozioltherapyandcoaching.com and a member of the admin team will lead you through the scheduling process.
We look forward to hearing from you!
